§ Mr. Haleasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the condition of Windmill Camp, Salisbury Plain, has been the subject of constant complaint since 1916; and whether he will cause a report to be called for examining its suitability, both as a site for, and as having the necessary equipment for, a military camp.
§ Mr. F. MacleanMy right hon. Friend has already said in answer to Questions by the hon. Member on 22nd November 61W that he was not satisfied with conditions at Windmill Hill camp last summer. An investigation into its suitability for future use has been carried out, and because of its convenience for training we shall continue to use it. Funds have been allotted to put all the necessary camp structures and equipment into a good state of repair, and we intend that the facilities and maintenance of the camp shall be adequate by the beginning of the next training season.
