§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeAn alien is not required to surrender his passport to the Home Office, but when the conditions endorsed on a passport by the immigration officer are subsequently varied by the Secretary of State, it is the practice to ask that the passport be sent to the Home Office where the amendment is formally noted in the passport.
