asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will now make a further announcement concerning the Commission of Inquiry into the activities of the Gold Coast Cocoa-Purchasing Commission.

The Government of the Gold Coast has announced the terms of reference of the Committee. They will be(i) To inquire into the management and administration of the Cocoa Purchasing Company Limited from its foundation to the present time in relation to disbursements and financial control; (ii) To inquire into any allegations of irregularities in the conduct of the Cocoa Purchasing Company's affairs brought to the notice of the Committee and to make recommendations to the Minister of Labour and Trade. The names of the members have not yet been announced, but the inquiry is to begin as soon as possible after the purchasing of the current cocoa crop ends on 16th March.
