§ Mr. Youngerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many convictions for attempted rape occurred in each of the years since the passing of the Attempted Rape Act, 1948; and how these figures compare with similar convictions in the years immediately prior to the passing of the Act;
(2) how many persons convicted of attempted rape in each year since the passing of the Attempted Rape Act, 1948, have been sentenced to terms of imprisonment in excess of the maximum penalty laid down prior to the passing of that Act.
