Mr. Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of hon. Members who have, during the past 12 months, visited any overseas country for any purpose where the cost of the visit was wholly or partly met by Her Majesty's Government's funds, the countries visited and the total cost involved.

During the twelve months from the 1st February, 1955, to the 31st January, 1956, the following hon. Members visited foreign countries wholly or partly at the expense of the Foreign Office. The following countries were visited: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Greece, Iceland. Iraq. Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Peru, Switzerland, Turkey, United States.

Charges so far known in respect of these visits amount to £11,753 0s. 8d.
