HC Deb 21 February 1956 vol 549 cc14-5W
68. Mr. H. Hynd

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the fact that approximately 400 awards of disablement pension were made in 1955 to men whose National Service was of less than six months' duration, he will ensure that a more thorough medical examination is given before a man is accepted for National Service.

Mr. Iain Macleod

I do not accept the implication in the Question that the award of disablement pension within six months of enlistment reflects adversely on the thoroughness of the man's examination by a National Service Medical Board.
