HC Deb 16 February 1956 vol 548 c289W
Mr. Smithers

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what results were achieved by the first Caribbean Geological Conference which took place recently in Antigua.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Papers were discussed dealing with the geology and palaeontology of oilfields, regional structures in the Caribbean, mineral resources other than oil and water, and Caribbean geohydrology. It is hoped that the proceedings will be published in due course.

The exchange of views that took place at the Conference was of considerable value and it is proposed that a similar meeting should be held in three years' time.
