asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware of the serious effects the embargo on the export of rubber from Malaya to China has had upon the economy of the Federation for the past five years; and if he wilt now take steps to remove this ban.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I am aware of the interest of the Federation of Malaya and Singapore in the export of rubber to China. As the Prime Minister informed the House on Monday the control on trade with China is to be reviewed.
