HC Deb 15 February 1956 vol 548 c257W
51. Mr. Dodds

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that the Customs authorities in Cyprus have declared their intention to examine all parcels sent to our troops there with a view to collecting import duties; and what action is being taken in an effort to avert this happening.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The Cyprus law requires that all imported parcels should be subject to Customs examination, and this applies to Army Post Office mail; but no duty has been claimed on any parcel consigned through the Army Post Office.
