asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer to give particulars of the intake and total numbers of university students in the current session; and how the position compares with the previous year.

These particulars are set out in the following tables:

The proportion of paralytic cases is not exactly known, but is estimated at about 65 per cent. of the total. There were 91 deaths in the period.
