§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeThe number of pool promoters who registered in England and Wales in 1955 under the Pool Betting Act, 1954, was 220. Of these, twenty-three cancelled their registrations during the year, and a further twenty-three ceased to operate without cancelling their registrations.
