§ Mr. Kerrasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will make a statement concerning the basis of calculating equalisation grant which would take account of the remission of rate income required to be given to charities and other bodies under the Rating Valuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1955, which has affected certain local authorities and, with particular severity, the administrative county of Cambridge.
§ Mr. SandysI would refer my hon. Friend to the interim statement on local government finance which I made yesterday, and to the provisions of the Rating and Valuation Bill which has been introduced today.
