§ 57. Mr. Hurdasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if in view of the evidence that birds migrating from the Continent are bringing foot-and-mouth disease to this country, he will ensure that all possible help, by way of technical advice, is given to Continental countries in stamping out the disease; and from which countries the migratory birds carrying the infection originate.
§ Mr. NugentTechnical advice and other help in combating foot-and-mouth disease are available to Continental countries from the European Foot-and-Mouth Disease Commission and from the International Epizootics office. The United Kingdom is an active member of both organisations and we are always ready to give any help we can. It is not possible to be precise about the origin of infection carried by migratory birds.
