§ Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what facilities for extra-mural education exist in Tanganyika; and what action he is taking to assist the University College of East Africa at Makerere to develop this.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThere is at present no provision for extra-mural work in Tanganyika under the auspices of Makerere College. The general extramural activities of the College are assisted by a grant from colonial development and welfare funds to meet the cost of the salary and other expenses of the Director of Extra-Mural Studies.
