§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreAs the House will know, the Egyptian Government have sequestrated all British property in Egypt. It is not yet clear what the ultimate financial effect of these measures will be. The question of compensation to those who have suffered or may suffer losses as a result of this action by the Egyptian authorities will be raised by Her Majesty's Government in any settlement negotiated with the Egyptians. Meanwhile, steps are being taken to compile a register of British property in Egypt.
