§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterUnder Section 49 of the National Insurance Act all employers and insured persons are required to provide such information, and to produce such documents, as an inspector may reasonably require for the purpose of ascertaining, among other things, whether contributions are payable or have been paid. These powers are used as necessary, and particularly in the course of visits of inspection, to ensure that the provisions of the Act are being complied with.
