HC Deb 05 December 1956 vol 561 cc143-4W
140. Mr. Denis Howell

asked the Secretary of State for Air for what purposes the Royal Air Force Camp, Half-penny Green, Six Ashes, is used; and what arrangements obtain in respect of the manning of the camp.

Mr. Birch

The Royal Air Force is no longer using this airfield, and after reviewing other possible Government requirements, we have decided to give it up. One or two civilian concerns are at present in occupation. A security patrol based on R.A.F. Station, Bridgnorth is responsible for guarding the camp.
