asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works, as representing the Lord President of the Council, whether he will make a statement on the National Scientific Reference and Lending Library projects.

Mr. Bevins

As stated in the Ninth Annual Report of the Advisory Council on Scientific Policy, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research has now been given responsibility for the National Science Lending Library and it is making a start on the work involved. Apart from this, I regret that I am not yet in a position to add to the replies I gave the hon. Member on 8th May and 5th June.
