Mr. Leeasked the Minister of Labour the number of factories granted certificates in respect of their fire escape arrangements; and what percentage this is of the total number subject to the provisions of the Factory Acts.
§ Mr. CarrOut of 60,600 factories which require such certificates, 33,116 had at a recent date received them. This is 55 per cent. of the total. The 45 per cent. given in the reply to a supplementary question by the hon. Member on 26th July is the percentage of the factories that have not got certificates.
