HC Deb 02 August 1956 vol 557 cc179-80W
45. Sir L. Joynson-Hicks

asked the Prime Minister whether he will arrange for one Minister to be responsible for settling claims for damage caused by aircraft flying under Her Majesty's Government's responsibility owing to the impossibility of the public being able to identify the aircraft which cause the damage.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I have been asked to reply.

The Departments concerned work closely together in dealing with these claims. The fact that it may not be possible to identify an aircraft which has caused damage does not prevent compensation being paid to the person by whom it has been suffered.
