asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take steps to release the accounts of British nationals resident in Egypt, in view of the hardship being caused to those who are now in this country and who are unable to draw on their accounts.

Arrangements have already been made under which the banks will permit the release of reasonable sums in such cases.
