68. Air Commodore Harveyasked the Minister of Supply what price has been paid for two Comet aircraft taken back from Air France.
§ Mr. MaudlingTwo Comet aircraft taken back by the manufacturers from Air France and the shell of another have been ordered by my Department at a total price of £560,000. This includes the cost of overhaul and substantial modifications necessary to make them suitable for Ministry purposes, which could not be met in any other way save at even greater cost.
