§ 60. Sir H. Roperasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will make a statement on the claim advanced by the Yemen to the Island of Kamaran.
§ Mr. HareThe Government of the Yemen protested against the granting of an oil exploratory concession in Kamaran on the ground that they consider that the island forms part of the Yemen. They have been informed that Her Majesty's Government are unable to accept that the King of the Yemen has any claim to Kamaran Island, and that accordingly Her Majesty's Government see no reason why the concession should be cancelled.
