HC Deb 19 April 1956 vol 551 c104W
Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyre

asked the Minister of Defence the number of Service officers, including those of the Indian Armed Services, below and above the age of 60 years, respectively, who retired under the 1919 Code and whose retired pay was reassessed for war service.

Mr. Head

I have been asked to reply.

About 6,500 Service officers 60 years old and over, and 1,080 under the age of 60, who retired under the 1919 Code, had their retired pay re-assessed for war service. These figures include former members of the Indian Armed Forces.
