HC Deb 17 April 1956 vol 551 cc65-6W
Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Supply the agreed price for the purchase of war surplus Army vehicles to a company, the name of which has been supplied by the hon. Member for Erith and Crayford; and by how much the outstanding balance was reduced by agreement and what was the reason for so doing.

Mr. Maudling

The transaction in question was the disposal in 1946 and 1947 of some vehicles lying in Germany. The original contract price of £454,740 was reduced to £375,778 to compensate for deficiencies in the number of vehicles delivered and shortcomings in their condition.
