HC Deb 16 April 1956 vol 551 c46W
59. Mr. T. Brown

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance the number of cases examined by the Manchester Pneumoconiosis Medical Panel, which were found to be suffering from emphysema.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

In 1954, which is the latest date for which I have figures, there were forty-eight cases in which the Manchester Pneumoconiosis Medical Panel did not diagnose pneumoconiosis but noted that the claimant was suffering from emphysema.
