HC Deb 16 April 1956 vol 551 cc49-50W
Mr. Hunter

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that employees of the British Overseas Airways Corporation who are called up for fourteen days' National Service training each year are not paid their wages; and if he will give a general direction to the Corporation to do so.

Mr. Watkinson

I am aware that British Overseas Airways Corporation does not supplement the Service pay of employees attending annual training camps as part of their National Service obligations; but I regard this as a matter for settlement through the established machinery of the industry.
