HC Deb 13 April 1956 vol 551 cc35-6W
Mr. Woollam

asked the Postmaster General whether he will now make a statement with regard to the provision of commemorative postmarks for the cancellation of mail posted on board the "Empress of Britain", and the "Mayflower" on the occasions of their respective maiden voyages.

Dr. Hill

I am arranging to provide a commemorative datestamp which will be used to postmark letters posted on board the "Empress of Britain" on her maiden voyage, and we propose to make similar arrangements for the "Mayflower".
