§ 73. Mr. Remnantasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will appoint a committee to examine the pay and conditions of the police forces throughout the country and make recommendations.
§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeThe Committee under the Chairmanship of Lord Oaksey examined every aspect of police pay and conditions of service and submitted in 1949 a detailed report which has formed the basis of subsequent developments in the police service and remains of lasting value. I see no need to institute a further review of this kind at the present time.
