§ Mr. Steeleasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what arrangements are being made to enable the new hospital at Alexandria to be brought into use, in view of the reported inability of the Western Regional Hospital Board to allocate the necessary funds.
§ Mr. J. StuartAlthough this hospital was built primarily as a reserve of accommodation for civil defence purposes, arrangements are now being made and staff recruited to bring the hospital gradually into ordinary use from 1st December. Finance is being provided from the sum available for expansion of the Hospital Service in the current year partly by diverting funds originally allotted to another Board which is not at present in a position to apply them to projects of equal importance.
