§ Mr. Walker-SmithThe purpose of the Advisory Council is to inform the British Standards Institution on matters where consumers have expressed a desire for standards to be established, and its interest in consumers' complaints is primarily to help to judge where standards are most required. My right hon. Friend does not think it would be desirable to interfere with this arrangement.
