§ Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has appointed a suitable expert in local government to investigate the law and practice governing local elections in Mauritius.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydAt the request of the Government of Mauritius Mr. B. Keith-Lucas, Senior Lecturer in Local Government at Oxford University and Fellow of Nuffield College, has been appointed Chairman of a Commission which will inquire into these matters. He is due to arrive in the Colony about now.
