HC Deb 24 November 1955 vol 546 c135W
54. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps are to be taken to safeguard the property of residents in the neighbourhood of Fairlop Close, Barkingside, which suffers from the depredations of unruly neighbours.

Major Lloyd-George

The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis has given special attention to this matter. A regular foot patrol visits Fairlop Close twice daily and visits at varying intervals are made by a dog patrol and a wireless car. The police fully appreciate the need to protect the property of neighbouring residents.

55. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what investigations he has caused to be made into the complaint of Albert O'Dwyer, of Fairlop Close, of his treatment by the Barkingside police.

Major Lloyd-George

As I informed the hon. Member in a letter I wrote to him on 15th September, the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis made careful inquiries into this complaint and sent me a full report. There are no grounds for thinking that the police acted improperly in this case.
