asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) when he proposes to announce the abolishing of industrial derating;

(2) if he will now announce the Government's future policy regarding agricultural derating.

As already stated in the House, the Government have decided to undertake a review of all aspects of local government finance in both Scotland and England and Wales. This will include the effects of derating and, pending its outcome, I cannot make a further statement.
