§ Mr. Joynson-HicksAt 29th October last, the larger industrial firms had 4,377,000 tons of coal and 562,000 tons of hard coke in stock. Merchants held 1,776,000 tons of house coal, anthracite, and boiler fuel and 203,000 tons of coke. If the recent improvement in coal output 75W is maintained and industrialists respond to the Government's call for greater fuel efficiency, we should be able to get through even a cold winter without serious difficulty.
