HC Deb 21 November 1955 vol 546 cc88-9W
Mr. Janner

asked the Minister of Education whether he is aware that the allowances allowed by some education committees to schools for writing paper, exercise books, text books, etc., are used up by schools before the next allowance is due, so that pupils have to provide their own stationery; and whether he will inquire into this stringency and, if necessary, see that more adequate funds are provided.

Sir D. Eccles

If the hon. Member will let me have particulars of any case in which pupils are having to provide their own stationery, I shall be glad to look into it.
