asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he is aware that railway station waiting rooms when re-equipped are being left or filled with extravagant open fires; and whether he will consult with the British Transport Commission to find means of ensuring that in all such improvements economy grates or stoves will be installed.

If the right hon. Gentleman will let me have particulars of any specific instance. I will arrange for them to be passed to the Chairman of the British Transport Commission whose organisation has been fully co-operative in promoting fuel efficiency.
