HC Deb 21 November 1955 vol 546 c87W
126. Mr. Arbuthnot

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department to what extent recent experience has shown that the Children and Young Persons (Harmful Publications) Act has met with success in achieving its object.

Major Lloyd-George

Since the Act came into force on 6th June only one complaint has reached me. I understand that three other works have been brought to the attention of the Director of Public Prosecutions and that in none of these cases did my right hon. and learned Friend the Attorney-General consider that proceedings were called for.
