§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe Government Geological Survey is carrying out basic geological mapping and systematic searches for minerals of commercial interest. Recent reconnaissances have been made in the Rupununi and N.W. Districts. In addition, private companies are conducting their own geological surveys in connection with occurrences of bauxite, manganese, columbite, gold and diamonds.
