60. Mr. Sorensen

asked the President of the Board of Trade with what countries an embargo on exports of goods from this country now operates under his regulations; and what modification of this is now being considered.

Mr. Low

There are controls on the export of strategic goods to the countries of the Sovietbloc and to China, North Korea, North Vietnam and Tibet. We are in regular consultation with other Western Governments about these controls, but it would not be practicable to disclose the particular modifications that may at one time or another be under discussion.
