Mr. Nabarroasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, in view of the fact that four months has now elapsed since the decision to revise the capital investment programmes of nationalised industries, why the Scottish electricity boards have not complied with the policy of reducing expenditure; and whether he will now make a further statement.

StuartThe Scottish Electricity Boards were asked to review their capital expenditure for their next financial year as part of the review of investment programmes held annually at this time of year. The Board's proposals are now being considered along with those of the Central Electricity Authority.
