§ Captain Kerbyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the number of cases in which, under the new and positive procedure of security vetting introduced into the Foreign Office at the beginning of 1952, it was considered prudent to move officers of the Foreign Office and Foreign Service to other work of less importance to the national security, or to accept their resignations; how many officers resigned; what financial settlements were made in any of those cases; and if he will circulate in the Official Report the names of those officers it was considered prudent to transfer.
§ Mr. TurtonSince the beginning of 1952 four established officers of the Foreign Service have been moved under the positive vetting procedure to other work of less importance to the national security; none has resigned; and no financial settlements have been made.
