HC Deb 09 November 1955 vol 545 c184W
Mr. Swingler

asked the Postmaster-General how many applications for telephone service are outstanding in the borough and rural district of Newcastle-under-Lyme; and to what extent he expects this list to be reduced as a result of the increased charges recently announced.

Dr. Hill

Excluding those in course of being met or under enquiry, the numbers are 302 in the borough and 58 in the rural district. It is too soon to say what effect the increased charges are likely to have on the number of applications.
