§ 82. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he will institute an inquiry into the difference between the price of coal at the pits and that charged to householders by coal merchants.
§ Mr. Joynson-HicksMy right hon. Friend is at present considering this proposal, and will inform the hon. Member of his decision in due course.
§ 83. Sir F. Messerasked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he is aware that the increases in the price of domestic coal has forced the Tottenham Borough Council to approve supplementary estimates of over £4,000; and if, in view of the effect of repeated increases on the fixing of rates, he will consider some method of price fixing which will not affect the rate estimate.
§ Mr. Joynson-HicksMy right hon. Friend is aware that problems are created by increasing fuel costs, but he does not consider that they could be solved by changing the method of price fixing.
