asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will promote legislation to prohibit the sale of explosive fireworks except on a restricted number of days immediately preceding the fifth of November.

79. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what prosecutions have been instituted by the police in the Metropolitan area against persons exploding fireworks during the months of September and October this year.

During the months of September and October this year proceedings were instituted by the Metropolitan police in sixty-nine cases against persons exploding fireworks in or into a street or public place.
