HC Deb 02 November 1955 vol 545 cc118-9W
77. Lieut.-Colonel Lipton

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what recent action has been taken to deal with the problem of continued emigration from the West Indies.

Mr. Hopkinson

No recent action has been taken by Her Majesty's Government to deal with the problem of migration from the West Indies. This matter is engaging the closest attention of my right hon. Friend and his colleagues in the Government, but I regret that it is still not possible to make a statement.
