§ 37. Mr. M. Lindsayasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation in how many of the road improvement schemes announced by his Department on 8th December, 1953, no work has as yet started on the site.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterOf the schemes announced by my predecessor to be authorised over a four-year period, physical work has started on nine (one of which has been completed), and has not yet started on twenty-one. All the schemes under this programme due to start within this financial year either have been started or will start within it. Two schemes announced to be started after this year have in fact now started.
