HC Deb 04 May 1955 vol 540 c122W
25. Mr. Willey

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what factors have caused the fall in the rate of output during the last quarter in British shipyards.

Mr. Digby

As I explained to the hon. Member in my previous answer, statistical comparisons between one quarter and another afford no reliable basis for conclusions about the shipbuilding industry. The lower output figures for the last quarter are probably due more to very severe weather conditions than to any other cause.
