§ Mr. Hargreavesasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will now provide details of the British Transport Commission modernisation proposals affecting freight and passenger working in the Cumberland area, so that plans for trunk-road improvements and development may take account of the transport needs of the whole area.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterDiesel multi-unit trains have already been introduced on 120 miles of track in Cumberland. Further details of work will be announced by the Commission in the annual forecasts which they will make.
