§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe recent Sierra Leone Education Commission recommended university college status as the ultimate goal for the college, while recognising that some considerable time must be taken to achieve it. The Commission proposed that the college should continue to provide courses at both university and non-university level, and that a proper balance in its range of studies should be achieved by an expansion of courses in science and technology. These recommendations, which have my support, have been accepted by the college council and the Sierra Leone Government. They have also been welcomed by the University of Durham, to which the college is affiliated.
